Eshiko Review - Is it really Better than Make Up Forever HD Powder?

Kristel (My bestfriend) has been blooming lately. I noticed it the first time last week. She was a fan of MUFE HD Powder however, there is a change on her skin glow and the overall radiance of her face aura. I asked her why is she blooming and she said she switched powders from MUFE to ESHIKO.

I am not really familiar with Eshiko however I got curious and googled it and eshiko.com was the first to came out. Basically it is a face powder classified as translucent hydrophobic silica. We all know that silica are the best light refractors out there and MUFE HD powder is 100% silica. So what is the difference between Eshiko and Make up forever HD powder?

I am using MUFE HD powder as well but I bought Eshiko same day Kristel told me about it. It is only available online and it costs 30 usd (same price with MUFE) and has a 100-day money back guarantee so I tried it.

It arrived around 10 days and it looks similar to MUFE in terms of packaging, though it is bigger and has more content (twice that of MUFE) I brushed it on and it was indeed AMAZING. The powder refracts light so good it really blurs your pores and make your skin glowing and photoshopped, if there is really such a term. It is really perfect for makeup it enhance the coverage and your complexion. I took a photo of the before and after:

I switched from MUFE HD Powder to Eshiko just after a day of using it. It is really an amazing, one of a kind face powder.

Make Up For Ever: Eyeshadows # 4 and # 18, Aqua Cream # 20, and HD Powder

I was lucky to pick up a few new MUFE goodies.
MUFE: Eyeshadows # 4 & 18, Aqua Cream # 20 and MUFE HD Powder
Read below for the reviews.

Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow # 4: This is a black eyeshadow that is a true black. I currently own MAC Black Tied, MAC Carbon and now MUFE # 4. I can honestly say this is a true black eyeshadow that does not run cool or blue-ish.
As with all MUFE eyeshadows, it blends like butter and is a pruchase I recommend if you are looking or a perfect black eyeshadow.
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow # 18: This colour reminds me of the inside of a pumpkin. It’s that perect orange, really vivid and bright. This colour is smooth and very pigmented. I have MAC Rule and MAC Juiced eyeshadows and I recommend the MUFE eyeshadow over both colours.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream # 20: This is my first Aqua Cream purhcase. I was rather excited to use this product, however due to my sensitive skin I won’t be able to use it. This product contains fragance. It is such a shame because it is such a beautiful shade of blue and isn’t flat at all.
Sadly I wish MUFE would adopt the unnessecary ingrendients like Smashbox.
Make Up For Ever HD Powder: I have NEVER used setting powder for my foundation, usually because they contain nasty ingredients. I really like that this powder is 100% Silca. Meaning people of all skin types – including sensitive can use it and it doesn’t settle into fine lines.
I’ll be wearing it over the coming weeks and give a full review. On inital use I’m pleased with this product, and it feels so smooth when applied. I have a small number of fine lines and it will be interesting to see if this product settles into them.

MUFE HD Blush

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Blush ($25.00 for 0.33 oz.) is the latest in the HD MUFE family.  I really wasn’t sure what to expect, creamy blushes are just not my thing, but I thought it’s gotta be good, it’s MAKE UP FOREVER!

Absolutely worth the moolah

The bottle is tiny and for $25 most of us would want more product.  Don’t be fooled by the size, the pigmentation of the blush is incredible and a little goes a long way.  Just to clarify, when I say a little, I mean half a pump max otherwise you’ll end up either wasting a lot of product or looking like a clown which is exactly what happened to me the first time I applied. LOL. GO EASY.

HD Blush won’t move

I don’t know about you, but my face eats blush.  Within a couple of hours after application it’s completely gone –  Buh-bye.  During the Key West summer month I don’t even bother putting it on, why waste a good thing!  MAKE UP FOREVER HD BLUSH WILL STAY PUT ALL DAY LONG.  They applies like a cream and dries almost like a stain.  It sorta of reminds me of my airbrush blushes.  All around fantastic.

Fab color selection

Once again MUFE does it with their fantastic color selection.  With fourteen shades, anyone will find their match and if not, go ahead and create your own  by mixing the blushes together.  Fabulous, I know!

Application

I’ve experimented with the application and what works best for me is when I use my MAC 188 brush applying with upward sweeping motion.  It blends really well and will also prevent from depositing too much.  You’ll need to work fast as the blush dry rapidly.

Color Swatch

I have all 8 colors in my kit have used them on my brides with phenomenal result.  I’m hooked, big time. They are super bright but tend to come down once dry.  Remember half a pump max.

Make Up For Ever Professional – HD Foundation Review & Photos

I can’t remember when exactly my love affair started with Make Up For Ever but I know when it went ‘stalker’. It was as soon as I laid eyes on HD Foundation.
To this day, and many Make Up For Ever products later, I am yet to find a dud. However, HD Foundation is currently on top of my leader board. It is my HG (Holy Grail) foundation. It is my go to foundation. It is my everything.

What I Say ….

  • Each time I apply it I get a little confused at how sheer it looks going on, but after just a few minutes of setting you can see the coverage in action.
  • The medium-to-full coverage is surprisingly natural. I would probably say it is more of a medium coverage on me. MUFE call it an “Invisible Cover Foundation”. I interpret that as it does all the stuff of a regular foundation but to the naked eye you cannot tell their is any foundation on the skin, and that is exactly how I feel about it.
  • Really easy to apply and blend.
  • It evens out skin tone and covers flaws with a natural effect. Kind of like lightly airbrushing your face.
  • You can’t feel it sitting on your skin. Actually, you can’t feel it even when you touch your skin.
  • No caking or sitting in lines.
  • Natural glow from your skin shines through.
  • Somewhat hydrating, not the most hydrating I have used but it still works a treat over dry patches.
  • Depending on environmental conditions I can get a full days wear out of it. A primer and powder are important in setting this foundation but if you take the time to apply everything properly it lasts wonderfully.
  • Works AMAZING in photographs. Sometimes I find the best foundations in person aren’t so good in photos …. this one is like the opposite.
  • I get the most compliments when I wear this foundation over any other! I put it down to being so natural looking, people think it is just my beautiful skin. Haha suckers!
I am wearing #115 which is the third lightest available. There are 26 colours available in the full range.

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review.

What they say: "The HD Foundation is an oil-free medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. Its extremely fine texture is supple and easy to apply. Enriched with moisturising agents, it leaves the skin soft and radiant. It is available in a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones".

I have been wearing this foundation daily for the last two weeks and I can say that I completely agree with everything they say. Here's my breakdown:

Texture & Coverage: It feels so light on the skin while providing quite a robust coverage which I would say is more medium than full. The fact that this isn't quite a full coverage foundation means it is invisible and looks just like 'your skin but better'. It dries to a semi-matte finish – oily-skinned girls will probably need to use primer before applying and powder all over, dry-skinned girls could totally get away with no powder at all. I'm somewhere in the middle, I tend to powder just under my eyes to set any concealing, down my nose and on my chin. I find this foundation lasts all day with no fading.

Colour: The colour selection is second to none and I'm sure that whatever skin-colour you have you will find a perfect match. I use shade 118 which is described as being for "light skin with beige undertones" and it matches 100% - it's actually quite amazing.

Packaging: Extremely good quality glass-looking plastic bottle with pump. I find I only have to use one pump and two drops for my entire face.

Price & Availability: This is a sore point. It really pains me to hand over £28.95 for a foundation. Saying that, I do think it is worth it because it really does perform and you need minimal product so will probably last a while. I will definitely re-purchase. It is quite hard to get hold of MUFE products in the UK, I bought mine from www.gurumakeupemporium.com (praying to the gods that I had chosen the right shade!). They also have a store in Fulham, London. PAM in Shepherd's Bush, London are also stockists (www.preciousaboutmakeup.com). Outside of London I'm not sure where it is sold, I'm hoping they open more places soon.

I give this a 4/5 – knocked one mark off for the price.

Make Up Forever HD Microperfecting Primer in Mauve and the HD Microfinish Powder

I bought two new items: The Make Up Forever HD Microperfecting Primer in Mauve and the HD Microfinish Powder, also from MUFE.
I got a little freebie of the neutral HD primer last year and really liked it, but I have the memory retention of a developmentally delayed guppy, so of course I forgot about it until I saw it in the shop.
I am extremely fair-skinned but I have instead of a pink or pure blue undertone, I have olive, which means I can go sallow, and this mauve stuff? Is genius.
Violet “color correctors” are nothing new, but this is by far the best I’ve tried. It’s got all the things I love about the regular HD primer –goes on like a dream, doesn’t cake, makes makeup stay put and last– plus brightens and evens out my skin. It really is almost luminous (and NOT from mica or glitter particles THANK YOU.)
It’s moderately pricey, but you only need a teensy bit and it doesn’t ball up or curl on the skin like some other primers do.  Plums up. Big fan.
The powder:
Wow.
This is a good powder.
But…I almost don’t want to call it a powder because it’s such a completely difference species from the old Coty loose powder or anything in a solid, and it’s lighter and cake-proof unlike the pure mineral veils.
It’s like the Photoshop “blur” tool in particle form.
I put it on over my regular skin care products and although I wouldn’t say it provided any coverage per se –which is good, because I didn’t want coverage– it made my skin look almost angelically soft, naturally.
Warning: It is ALL about the brush with this product.
You absolutely need a kabuki brush and you need to buff it in well. Not that it will look bad if you don’t buff properly, but you won’t get that perfect radiance either. If you don’t have or don’t want to invest in a kabuki brush –my favorite is this dead cheap real badger brush which is like, six bucks — then just skip it.
So two big Ws for the Make Up Forever products!
I also purchased their Mist and Fix spray which supposedly sets your makeup and is beloved by MUAs the world over. I haven’t put it through its paces yet, but it’s in the works, including before and after photos!
